Quebec Skilled Worker

1- Quebec skilled worker (Arrima)

Canada enables highly educated and trained foreign nationals to immigrate to Quebec as skilled workers.
Since 8 march 2017, Quebec lowered the points of most fields of study. The dominant reason behind this decision is that the applicants would increase their knowledge in French and would gain their French B2 certificate at least in one skill (preferably Speaking or listening)

2- Eligibility

The single applicants must score at least 50 and married applicants should score a minimum of 59. The applicant’s score must be assessed in order to understand whether they are eligible or not.

Education Field Maximum 12 points
Work Experience Maximum 8 points
Age Maximum 16 points
Language Maximum 22 points
Relatives in Quebec Maximum 8 points
Spouse’s Qualifications Maximum 17 points
Job Offer Maximum 10 points
Children Maximum 8 points
Financial Self Efficiency 1 points

3- How to Apply?

Step 1: Gathering documents

Step 2: Creating an Arrima Expression of Interest (EOI) profile this profile is valid for one year and you have 90 days to submit the EOI

Step 3: Eligible applicants (with highest scores) will get invitation letters to apply for Canada permanent residency

Step 4: The invited applicant will have 90 days to submit their documents and pay the processing fee (CAD$ 785 main-applicant + CAD$ 168 spouse and each child)

Step 5: The application will be processed by the Quebec government. In this stage the application:

May be accepted and the applicant will have to do the federal process right away.
OR
The officer may ask the applicant to provide more documents in 90 days. If he/she fails to do so, the application will be rejected.
OR
The applicant may be asked to attend an interview.

Step 6: If the applicant’s application was accepted in the previous stage, he/she have to submit their documents to the federal
